Tiverton Town Council Christmas Hours for 2018

The Town Council offices will be closing at 1pm on Monday 24th December 2018 Christmas Eve, they will then remain closed until Friday 28th December 2018, when the Town Clerk’s office will be open from 9am until 1pm on that day.

The Town Council offices will be open on Monday 31st December 2018 from 9am until 1pm but will be closed on Tuesday 1st January 2019 all day.

The Town Council offices will resume normal hours from Wednesday 2nd January 2019.

The Council wishes everyone a very Happy Christmas and Peaceful New Year

Tiverton Christmas Switch-on and Lantern Parade 2018

Tiverton will once again experience the town’s Christmas Lights Switch-on event and Lantern Parade on Saturday 1st December 2018.

The Lantern Parade is a magical spectacle to behold involving local schools and pupils parading with both individual and joint creations. The parade will begin at 5.30pm from Westexe and will proceed up through Angel Hill and into Fore Street through to Bampton Street, then down Barrington Street hill and into Gold Street and ending back in Fore Street for the Switch-on at 6pm.

There will be an extended general market running from 8.30am until 4pm and an Electric Nights Street Food event at the market from 5pm until 9pm.

Tiverton Town Council have once again employed local company Festive Lighting to supply the town’s illuminations which will showcase new designs this year.

So come along! there will be something for everyone and experience some festive cheer!

"Christmas Carols" Christmas Window Competition 2018

Christmas is fast approaching and Tiverton Town Council would like to invite all of the town’s businesses to enter the annual best dressed window competition.

This year’s will be: “Christmas Carols”

The windows will be judged by the Mayor of Tiverton Cllr Janet Rendle on the 30th November 2018 with the winner being announced at the Switch-on event on the 1st December 2018. A shield will be awarded to the winner.

Tiverton Conservation Vote

THE BIG CONSERVATION COMPETITION.

THE TIVERTON CIVIC SOCIETY RECENTLY NOMINATED THE TIVERTON CONSERVATION AREA AS ENGLAND’S FAVOURITE CONSERVATION AREA INTO A COMPETITION ORGANISED BY CIVIC VOICE, THEIR PARENT ORGANISATION, THERE WERE 249 NOMINATIONS AND TIVERTON HAS BEEN SHORTLISTED IN THE FINAL 18.

Tiverton Mayor's Charity Dinner & Auction

The Mayor of Tiverton, Councillor Janet Rendle will be hosting a Charity Dinner & Auction on Saturday 3rd November at The Tiverton Hotel. This is a fantastic opportunity to raise money for local community organisations for the young, the elderly, the homeless, the visually impaired, for people with dementia and groups that help in the community such as the Street Pastors. Organisations that can really make a difference with a little money, thanks to the wonderful volunteers that help run these groups.

The Mayor is pleased to be welcoming the Rt Reverend Jackie Searle, Bishop Of Crediton as guest speaker to the evening. There will be a small auction and raffle for all to enter.

Tickets are £29.50 inclusive of a 3 course dinner with coffee, a welcome drink and wine on the table and can be purchased from Tiverton Town Council, Town Hall.

The evening will begin at 7pm for 7.30pm with a dress code of lounge suits and Mayoral Chains.

Get your glad rags on, keep calm, and come dancing! Join us for an evening to commemorate 100 years since the end of World War 1 in aid of The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. With entertainment from Tiverton Town Band, live music from the Liberty Sisters, and dancing from the The South West Lindy Hoppers, there is something for everyone!
