Following the declaration of a climate emergency by Devon County Council Tiverton council moved to follow their example, and that of the UK Parliament; and declared a climate emergency. This resulted in a new Environment Committee set up with the aim of working with local businesses and community groups in order to reduce Tivertons’ carbon footprint and to increase awareness of, and action on, climate change and the environment within the parish area.
