Request information

Freedom of Information Act

Requests for information under the Freedom of Information Act should be made in writing to the Town Clerk.

Upon receipt of the request the Town Clerk will, as soon as possible, acknowledge the request and state what costs, if any, will be involved in the processing of the information.

Under the Freedom of information Act the Council will have twenty working days to provide such information.

  • Any postage charges will be charged at cost.
  • All charges will be subject to Vat at the prevailing rate

In the event that a request is made for a large amount of information involving a great deal of research time an estimate will be given of the cost of providing such information.

Under these circumstances no work will be undertaken until an agreement to pay such costs has been undertaken by the person requesting the information.
