Citizens Advice: Citizens Advice Bureau are now operating the following services for those who are wishing to seek advice. They will be offering a drop in service for general advice on Wednesdays and Thursdays run from 10am until 3pm, please note that the service is Volunteer run and whilst Citizens Advice endeavour to provide a regular service, occasionally due to staff training, the service may not operate. Community Together Support Service: This new project run by Mid Devon Mobility provides friendly support direct to your door. Their fully DBS checked volunteers can visit and offer a friendly chat over a cuppa, collect or deliver a prescription, assist with shopping or online shopping support, assist with filling in forms or booking appointments, help with your meal preparation, play a board game or game of card. Tiverton
Tiverton is the largest town in Mid Devon. It has good transport connections being close to the M5, and Tiverton Parkway Train Station, which is on the main railway line with frequent trains to Bristol, London, the Midlands and the North of England, as well as Exeter, Plymouth and Cornwall.
This historic market town is blessed with some unique attractions, it is home to the award winning Grand Western Canal Country Park which was established in 1971. It is one of the last remaining in the country still operating a horse drawn barge, allowing visitors to appreciate the beauty of the 11.5 mile stretch which meanders through the Devon countryside. The canal provides a cycle route along its tow path for enthusiasts and there are boats available to hire during the summer season.
