Calling all gardeners, no age restrictions. Whatever the size of your garden, think about entering our Garden Competition!!!!
Every year Tiverton Town Council holds a competition for the gardeners of Tiverton. There are many categories. Every garden is visited and judged by a recognised gardening expert. At the end of the season, the Tiverton in Bloom committee organises a presentation evening with photographs of your garden, a delicious buffet and a chance to meet other local gardeners.
Tiverton Town Council was very proud to be awarded a Gold Award in the South West in Bloom Competition in 2014.
The application form for our Garden Competition can be downloaded Here
Good luck to all!
Producers from Eat Well for Less are looking for Families in Tiverton to take part in the next Series.
Coco Bartlett explains'
The programme sees Masterchef’s Gregg Wallace and award winning grocer Chris Bavin on a mission to prove that you can source quality nutritious food, but spend less doing it. We are looking for outgoing people, perhaps struggling to adjust to a new financial or dietary situation (or just looking to eat good food and save money on their shop!), to appear on our programme to see if Gregg and Chris can make a difference. The first series was a great success and showed families how to save hundreds, if not thousands, on their shop, as well as learn a lot about their food along the way.'
Tiverton is looking for it's very own Town Crier. This is a unique opportunity for a member of the local community to be appointed to this civic voluntary role.
As a Town Crier you will be a visible presence in the Town calling our residents to local events and making public pronouncements. You can also represent our town at Town Crier competitions across the country if you wish.
We require someone with a good level of literacy (many of the announcements are written in medieval text) and an ability to perform to a crowd. This role is not for the passive or softly spoken!
