We are offering a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our small team as an Events coordinator. This role is responsible for the coordination of bookings for both the Town Hall and New Hall.

The successful candidate will maximise income generation for both venues through actively marketing the facilities on offer and managing relationships with existing customers to increase revenue streams.

You will be responsible for a busy and varied portfolio of events from Wedding Ceremonies at the Town Hall to live bands at the New Hall.

General Responsibilities

  • Marketing of both venues and
  • Increase bookings for the Town Hall as a Corporate meeting venue and source new revenue streams
  • Act as a Wedding coordinator and be the Council’s on site representative for ceremonies
  • Maximise revenue from Weddings by up-selling, adding on and using targeted, personal recommendations
  • Arranging External visits for prospective customers
  • Assisting with set up and clearing down of Weddings and other functions at the Town Hall
  • Source and book live acts for the New Hall and ensure the smooth running of events and performances
  • Plan, organise and publicise a variety of events at both the New Hall and Town Hall to increase revenue streams including Wedding/Vintage or Food Fayres
  • Be the main point of contact for Event bookings
  • Advertise events using a variety of different social media
  • Develop an on-line booking system for the New Hall and set up ticket sales for events from the Town Hall offices
  • Ensure that Performing Rights Society requirements are met

We are looking for an organised and enthusiastic individual with excellent administration and communication skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook is preferred. The ideal candidate would have some experience on Marketing and Events coordination. The post holder would need to be very flexible in the actual hours worked as the job would include some weekend and evening work.

Hours of Work:         16 per week

Salary £9.87PH

Toilet Cleaner
We are offering a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our small team as a part time Toilet Cleaner. The role is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the Towns two main blocks in the winter and additionally our two Parks blocks in the summer months.
General Responsibilities
•Open the blocks in the early morning (6.30am) and carry out four deep cleans of each block during the day
•Close and secure all blocks at night (7.30pm)
•Adhere to the Councils Health and Safety Policies ensuring that you do not take any action that could threaten the health or safety of yourself, other employees, customers or members of the public
•Ensure all soap and toilet paper dispensers are fully stocked and in working order
•Keep the floors clean by use of specialist chemicals and equipment
•Thoroughly clean the sinks and toilet furniture
•Ensure hand driers are in working order and are clean
•Keep the floors, shelves and cubicles free of all rubbish and debris
•Change and empty waste bins when necessary
•Once a week deep clean the walls, floors and toilet furniture
•Deal with any needles found, safely and as per the Councils Health and Safety Policy
•Protective clothing and other equipment which may be issued for your protection because of the nature of your job must be worn and used at all appropriate times
•Recognise faults with the toilet blocks and attempt to rectify
•Notify the office staff immediately of any faults or damage that cannot be rectified and ensure affected cubicles are closed 
•Ensure that the store cupboards are well stocked and are kept clean and tidy at all times
•Dispose of any rubbish responsibly and appropriately
We are looking for an organised and enthusiastic individual who takes pride in their work so that both residents and visitors to Tiverton are able to use our facilities safely and are impressed by the high standard of cleanliness.
The role is lone working a majority of the time so the ideal candidate will be able to think on their feet, problem solve and be completely reliable. You must own and be able to use your own vehicle to travel to sites and transport stock.
The hours of work are 5 hours a day – 7 days on – 7 days off rota to include weekends and bank holidays.
Hourly rate of pay is £7.68 and mileage will be paid at £0.45 per mile
